a bit about the book

Night of Flames paints a vivid and terrifying picture of war-torn Europe during WWII. It’s the tale of a Krakow university professor Anna and her husband Jan, a Polish cavalryman. Separated and forced to flee occupied Poland, Anna soon finds herself caught up in the Belgian Resistance, while Jan becomes embedded in British Intelligence efforts to contact the Resistance in Poland. He seizes this opportunity to search for his lost wife Anna. Through the long night of Nazi occupation, Anna, Jan and the ordinary people of two countries fight a covert war of sabotage and resistance against the overwhelming might of the German war machine.

Hi Douglas,

I saw your post on Book Blogs and came right over to your site! :)
I am a member of Book Blogs as well and a book reviewer for 'Book Reviews By Bobbie' http://bookreviewsbybobbie.wordpress.com/

I read the information about your book 'Night of Flames' and thought it thought it looked really interesting. I didn't realize that there was a 'resistance' that helped American pilots during World War 2. That's amazing!
I would love to have a copy of your book 'Night of Flames' to read and review.
It sounds like a superb book!
I've read several books about the Holocaust and several books about Anne Frank so I am familiar with books that show human struggles and their desire to once again be free.
I would really enjoy reading your novel.

Cheers,
Bobbie Crawford-McCoy

I saw your post over at book blogs as well! Your blurb about the book caught my attention because WWII is a particular favorite part of history for me. You can read a post I did about it last year on my blog, if you want, here. That post is mostly about my interest in Holocaust memoirs but I like all kinds of personal stories about that period in time. Anyway, it sounds great :)

I blog about books over at www.corinnesbookreviews.blogspot.com

I am a big fan of historical fiction. Especially about WWII. Always read every book I can get my hands on and yours sounds very good. Am a librarian in a small town and would love to add it to our shelves.

I saw that you were on the participant list for the WWII reading challenge and stopped over to take a look at your page. Your book sounds really interesting. I'm going to have to check it out at some point. I've read a lot of various things about WWII - my grandfather and his brothers where army photographers during the war. They never really spoke much of their experience so I guess that's why I read about it. I also learned a lot about the various things that were going on in Poland during the war during a visit to meet my relatives there in 2007. I like the idea that your book highlight some of those courageous Poles. As with the nurses this is a group of people that contributed a lot to the war but are so over looked.

And speaking of those nurses I highly recommend a book called And if I Perish. Its a non-fiction work about the Army nurses of WWII. I read it a few years ago...such a fascinating read. I couldn't put it down.
